Every year, a silly age-old debate rears its ugly head concerning whether or not pregnant women should be celebrated during Mother’s Day. Some people, no matter which side they are on, get really impassioned about this topic. Lot’s of people, especially those who do not have children and are not pregnant, could care less.

If you are pregnant for the first time, this may be the first time you’ve given any thought to the topic. One important point to remember is that while pregnant, you are already feeding, nurturing, and caring for your baby. Your decisions are based on what’s best for your child and your are already dedicated. In this way, you are already “mothering”.

This is why you should absolutely be celebrated on Mother’s Day. Don’t let anyone diminish the work of motherhood that you have already done. Celebrate yourself and allow others to celebrate you this Mother’s Day without guilt.

Happy Mother’s Day!
